GCC Recommends: Sherlock

Are you a Sherlock Holmes fan? Do you like Steven Moffat’s work on Doctor Who? Have we got a show for you!

If you haven’t already watched it, this modern update of the Sherlock Holmes stories features Holmes and Watson (played by Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, respectively) solving mysteries in a world of iPhones, laptops, and DNA testing. It’s also a great deconstruction of the characters of Holmes and Watson.

The series runs in three-episode seasons, but each episode is a 90-minute made-for-TV feature, so I like to see it as getting three movies in three weeks.

The second season started yesterday in the UK. Hopefully, it’ll be in the States soon enough.

Sherlock is available now on Netflix Instant.
